In both the Brief Description and Body fields, you can apply HTML formatting to the text you enter:

Note: Safari on Macintosh computers does not support rich-text formatting controls. In Safari, you will see only Bold, Italic, and URL buttons.
Formatting can be applied in several ways:
Depending on where the cursor is the text or what items are selected, some buttons may not be available. The Decrease Indent button, for example, is not available unless you select text that has been indented.
The buttons have the following functions:
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Makes the text bold using the <strong> tag. | |
| Makes the text italic using the <em> tag. | |
| Makes the paragraph an item in a bulleted list. | |
| Makes the paragraph an item in a numbered list. | |
| Decreases the indentation for an indented paragraph. | |
| Increases the indentation for a paragraph. You can indent a paragraph multiple times. | |
| Left-aligns the paragraph. | |
| Centers the paragraph. | |
| Right-aligns the paragraph. | |
| Justifies the paragraph. | |
| Inserts a link. Note: You must enter and select the text before inserting a link. When you click the button, the Link window opens, in which you can set the link properties. | |
| Removes the link for the selected text. Note: In Firefox, you must select the whole link before clicking the Remove Remove Link button. In Internet Explorer, you can simply click the in the link. | |
| Inserts a table. When you click the button, the Table Properties window opens, in which you can set the table properties. | |
| Makes the selected table row a table header, replacing that row's <td> tags with <th> tags. Note: You can make any row in a table a header row. | |
| Inserts an image on the left side of the paragraph. See Adding Images. | |
| Inserts an image on the right side of the paragraph. See Adding Images. | |
| Opens the Source View window, allowing you to edit the HTML code. Note: In Internet Explorer, the Source View appears in the same field. In Firefox, Source View opens in a new window. |
As with most applications, you can right-click in the field to access editing commands. The specific commands that are displayed will vary depending on what item you have right-clicked; for example, "Image Properties" appears when you right-click an image.

The formatting controls support one level of undo. If you've applied formatting that you decide you don't want, you can press Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Command+Z (Mac) to undo the formatting.
